Hi all, Just wanted to add that were not using Branched Versioning either and are still getting this error. I'll be really interested to see the outcome on this. Thanks Clinton

嗨,我是试图找出什么是最好的进行tice for remote editing of data held in Enterprise Geodatabases. Since Covid we've had a greater demand from our Technicians to work from home. These technicians are currently using a VPN to access our orgainsation's on premise data and edit via SDE Connections. Our Enterprise Geodatabases are versioned with the option to move edits to base. We are implementing a completely new GIS environment Enterprise 10.8.1 or possibly 10.9.1 SQL Server 2019 and have the opportunity to implement new editing processes. From the documentation it looks like branched versioning and editing via a feature service is now the recommend process. Potentially if we added these editable feature services to our external facing Portal then any of our Technicians could edit remotely in any location and on any device. I'm assuming that editing a feature service will also be more light weight and offer better performance? My main concern with this approach is security. We would have our key datasets exposed to the internet via feature services. While I understand that once a branched version dataset is published as a feature service security is handle by Portal this still doesn't seems like a best practice? Would we be creating exposure to our internal networks? Is anyone else editing corporate data via branched versioned feature services on an external facing Portal ? Any help would be appreciated Thanks Clinton

Hi, I've written a Notebook that backups up our AGOL hosted feature services to File Geodatabases. I'm using the new tasks feature in AGOL to schedule the backups everyday. The notebook calls the item.export method and everything works well under my default administrator role. I'd like to create a new custom role in AGOL that can be used specifically to run the backups. I was hoping to give this role enough privileges to run the script without having full administrative rights. However I can't seem to give the custom role enough permissions. I'm getting the following error: You do not have permissions to access this resource or perform this operation. (Error Code: 403) Question: Can you only run item.export from a default administrator account or am I missing something in configuring the custom role? It seems strange that I can create a custom role with full rights to add and delete organizational members and edit update delete data but I cant set one up to do an export ? Thanks, Clinton

Hi Alexander, I'm trying to implement a similar back up schedule for large hosted feature layers in AGOL. I've been looking into replica and the Pro file geodatabase to filegeodatabase tool but these options don't handle large datasets that well. The issue is the amount of time the export takes to download. Did you manage to get a process that worked ? Thanks, Clinton

Hi, Has anyone got a Python script that they are willing to share that only backs up hosted feature layers for either an AGOL organization or ArcGIS Enterprise Deployment. I'm only interested in backing up content that our users have created rather than any referenced feature services as these dataset are backed up via enterprise backups. I'm trying to remove the issue where users create hosted feature layers and rely on the data without taking manual backups. These users are unaware that AGOL hosted data can't be recovered or that you can't restore a datastore to get one hosted feature layer back. I've looked at running a notebook however we only have enterprise 10.7.1 so I can't see an easy way of scheduling this task either. Any help would be appreciated Thanks, Clinton

你好,我最近安装了ArcGIS监控10.7.1and I'm now receiving quite a few email alerts at times when we are: 1) Running the Webgisdr Tool (on Enterprise 10.7.1) 2) Performing Enterprise Geodatabase Maintenance (Compress, Rebuild Indexes, Analyze Datasets on SQL Server) These above process are all scheduled to occur and night. What I'm trying to avoid is ArcGIS Monitor sending me severe or critical warnings that are related to these backups, enterprise gdb maintenance while the alerts are valid they aren't required. I thinking that these alerts are happening because we don't stop our map / feature services before performing the above processes? Backups using the webgisdr tool start at 11pm, severe warming occurs at 11.02pm Enterprise Geodatabase Maintenance begins at 1.00 am and I get alters from the services saying that they cant access the DBMS server What is the recommended procedure? Should we stop all of our services first ? what are other organizations doing ? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Clinton

Hi, We had the same sort of issue with Imagery Tiles not sure if its relates to your problem. One cause for small white lines around tiled images is that the Ctrl+ or Ctrl- has been used to alter the size of the font in your browser. Most notable when using the Ctrl- a few times you’ll see the while space around the tiled images in your basemap. To make the white space disappear, press Ctrl 0 (i.e. Control + 0) this resets your browsers font size to “normal” and as a result returns the space between the images to zero. I found this resolution found in the forum below and I’ve tested this in my Chrome browser. https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/22303/why-is-there-a-small-white-space-between-tiles-in-chrome/22320 Thanks, Clinton

Hi all, I thought I'd add to this post as I had a similar Token error that was very difficult to diagnose. Essentially when I tried to establish a connection I got the following error: Token Error Failed : Server Input Error - cannot find server xxxxxxx:443 For me this issue was nothing to do with the way I tried to install ArcGIS Monitor but a missing DLL on our server. I needed help from one of our Senior Systems Engineers to find the cause of this issue. When we tried to run the following from the command prompt: mongod --storageEngine wiredTiger --dbpath E:\ArcGIS_Monitor\Mongo\Data --port 27017 MongoDB failed to start and reported that there was a missing DLL. When we investigated this DLL it turned out we need to update our MS C++ Redistributable to the 2019 version on the Server Once we update the MS C++ Redistributable and restarted the server then re ran the Post Installer and checked the logs MongoDB was ok and we were able to create a connection Hopefully this helps someone else and saves them a world of pain. Thanks, Clinton

Hi, Some of our field staff are also experiencing this 'untrusted host error' when using the latest version of collector on Android devices. The error message is specifically "Untrusted Host https://services2.arcgis.com/......... This server could not prove itself; its security certificate is not trusted by your OS. Would you like to continue anyway? The current work around is to have users log out of Collector and log back in. I've just suggested that field staff uninstall / reinstall collector as per some of the suggestions above to see if this resolves the issue ESRI is there an official solution for this problem yet? Thanks, Clinton

Hi John, I've opened the same webmap in Map Viewer beta as you suggested and I get the following result. None of the expected symbology (green diamonds) are showing,in fact no symbology is returned in the area of interest (Figure 1). (Figure 1) Area of Interest Map Viewer Beta) The legend in map viewer beta seems to recognise what the required symbology should be (Figure 2). (Figure 2: Map Viewer Beta Legend) If I change the symbology to show location only in Map Viewer beta then you can see that there are actually features in the area of interest. (Symbology showing location only Map Viewer Beta) I've also noted that Map Viewer Beta actually fails to show both the Valid - Overridden (Green Diamond) or Possible Error Outside Range (Yellow Diamond) any where in the map. So essentially these two symbols fail to render (Figure 3). (Figure3: Map Viewer Beta fails to render Valid - Overriden or Possible Error Outside Range symbology) Thanks, Clinton
