Hello, Is this issue resolved or do you have a timeline for the fix? I still see this issue in PBI service + ArcGIS Online. Thanks

Thanks, Ian. I'm waiting for the 2022.1 release as well. Doesn't show up on our my.esri downloads yet. Hopefully, we can try out the new features soon!

As of ArcGIS Insights 2021.3.1 for ArcGIS Enterprise, Predefined filters widget/card supports single select dropdown, single-select list and multi-select list options. In case of multi-select option, the card occupies too much space and it's impossible to resize it to a smaller size. It'd be great to have a multi-select dropdown option as well, so that filters don't take up too much UI space.

ESRI analyst reproduced the issue and has logged a bug. Per our discussion, issue is fixed in ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 version. Hope it helps someone.

Hello, We're planning to create a Query layer which would reference data from a registered Oracle DB. I see that Query layer accepts range and discrete parameters. Once a feature layer is published with parameters setup, we're looking to consume that layer/map in our custom web application via ArcGIS JavaScript API v4.22. I don't see any documentation on how to pass parameter values via JavaScript. Is it even possible or parameters are supported only in ArcPro? What are the clients that support Query layer params? Thanks.

Yes, I also tried publishing the SD directly on ArcGIS server. Same error message. I'm glad to hear service account need not have access to DB (since we aren't using OS auth), because that would be a major issue for our setup. We'll focus on the DB user account and we'll see if ESRI tech support has any luck. And, I shared the support number in chat if you'd like a look. Thanks for your time!

@TanuHoque After ruling out many things, ESRI tech seems to think this could related to DB user permissions. Could you tell me what privileges you granted to DB user connecting to Oracle (other than Read)? And, should the Arcgis service account (used for running arcgis Windows services) have access to Oracle DB as well? Thanks

Thanks Tang and Tanu, Without the discrete/range parameters, I'm able to publish query layers using exact DB and connection. So, I suppose it's not a firewall or DB user issue. I also tried unregistering all managed connections (other than the arcgis datastore), and registering again. I see dsconnections files are updated properly. Still, same error. I'm just waiting for ESRI tech to respond back.

你好,我是无法发布查询层标准ameters in WHERE clause to our ArcGIS Enterprise portal - from Arcpro and also directly on arcgis server manager. Within Arcpro, params are recognized and map is displayed properly. Layer publishes successfully when parameter is removed. Query references data from a registered Oracle DB. I tried even a simple query like 'select * from tablename where colname = ::var1'. Other layers referencing same DB connection are working fine. I've reached out to ESRI support too. But I'm wondering if someone faced this weird issue or if I'm missing something obvious. Below are some details DB: Oracle 19c Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro 2.9.1, ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 Publishing error: ERROR 001487: Failed to update the published service with the server-side data location. Please see the server's log for more details. Server log: Failed to create the service.: Updating the server connection string for layer WCT failed. Attempted connection string was ENCRYPTED_PASSWORD=.................AUTHENTICATION_MODE=DBMS. Table name is USER.%WCT_1. Please verify the data exists on the server.

Thanks, David. I think I wasn't clear Ports 7443 & 6443 will NOT be exposed to public. As you said, they must go through public URL, gis.company.com. I was referring to the internal Admin load balancer setup for admin communication / private URLs. I think it matches with the second option you explained i.e., to have admingis.company.com for private communication. For this internal admin balancer, my understanding is that it has to accept traffic on 6443 & 7443 and then redirect, based on port #, to portal & server machines accordingly. These URLs will also be used for federation. I'm wondering if I'm missing any other option - rather than allowing traffic on 7443/6443 for this internal load balancer. Thanks again for your time. e.g., admingis.company.com:7443/arcgis/portaladmin admingis.company.com:6443/arcgis/manager This setup is similar to the below recommendation from ESRI - without the web adapters.

Hello, Thanks for the detailed article. I have a question related to HA setup we're implementing. Our setup doesn't have Web adapters and allows portal and server traffic directly on ports 7443 & 6443 respectively. For the private portal URL / admin access, we're setting up a private load balancer using a hostname, say, gisadmin.company.com. Should the load balancer always allow admin traffic via 6443,7443 ports? Our Network security is reluctant to allow traffic to F5 load balancer on ports other than default 433. Note that the goal is to have single load balancer/hostname, and direct traffic to portal & server machines based on port #. I just want to know if there are any other approaches I might be missing. e.g., gisadmin.company.com:7443/arcgis/portaladmin gisadmin.company.com:6443/arcgis/manager

It's good to know that ESRI recommended NAS to you! After discussion with our network team, we decided to go with our enterprise NAS which is clustered. Given the high performance promised by them, we're confident going forward with our setup. Only time will tell if the setup functions without major headaches. Appreciate you detailing your experience!

谢谢你,托德。感谢详细的答案。Dedicated NAS is definitely something to discuss with our infra team. And, I'm planning to exclude web adapters since we'll use SAML and Load balancer for routing traffic. Right now our focus is on HA since we really need the scalability factor as well. Hope it works out! What I noticed in general is many users are using NAS for shared storage. Since I'm not an network expert, I'd love to get details on why NAS is preferred. Is the because of better random IOPS? is it preferred for file server and cheaper? I'm also hoping to get some recommendations/benchmarks on NAS specs from ESRI. May be only the ESRI business consulting team will help in that regard.
